Upper abdomen

What is it for?

This exam examines the upper part of the abdomen, which includes the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and spleen. They are not part of the exam: kidneys, bladder, intestine, aorta.

What can he detect?

Hepatic cirrhosis, fatty liver, gallstones, tumors, polyps, pancreatitis, cysts, liver tumors, splenomegaly, tumor

What is the importance of diagnosis?

Total abdominal ultrasound is essential for early detection of these pathologies, allowing for faster and more effective treatments. It also helps monitor chronic conditions and guide the doctor for additional tests, if necessary.

What is PREPARO?

Fasting of 8 hours.

Last meal of the previous day between 8 PM and 10 PM: Light diet (vegetable soup excluding sweet potato, vegetables excluding cabbage and cauliflower, fruits, tea with water crackers). Do not drink soda, sparkling water, juices, milk and dairy products (yogurt, cheeses), bread, pasta, eggs, sweets, and greasy foods.

It is not necessary to drink water or keep the bladder full.
